New civil and administrative tribunal for Queensland
Following the recent review conducted by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General, the Premier has announced that a civil and administrative tribunal is to be established in Queensland. The newly amalgamated tribunal will provide a single gateway to increase the community's access to justice. It will increase efficiency and quality of decision-making through an enhanced administrative structure. The Premier has also established an independent panel of experts to provide advice on how best to implement the amalgamated tribunal including:
- the precise scope of the jurisdiction of the new tribunal
- the tribunal's membership and registry structure
- the tribunal's accommodation, information technology and other infrastructure needs.
