Preserving our heritage

In stark contrast to many contemporary courthouses being constructed in Queensland, our historic courthouses tell of a time long passed. The courthouses featured on these pages highlight our ongoing commitment to preserve local history and our state's architectural heritage.

Some of these stately buildings are heritage-listed, dating back to the late 1800s, and remind us of the long presence of the law in Queensland towns, big and small.

These courthouses are historically important not only for their architecture but as a testament to our state's early growth and prosperity.

Next time you're in regional Queensland, we invite you to stop in at the local courthouse.
