
Marriages
Our Registry of Births, Death and Marriages registers marriages that take place in Queensland.We provide certificates from the marriage register including:
- official marriage certificates for legal and identity purposes
- commemorative marriage certificates for use as mementos
- historical marriage information for such purposes as family history research.
We are also responsible for registering ministers of religion as authorised celebrants in Queensland.
Our other marriage services include providing:
- statistical marriage information to authorised bodies for research
- certificates of no record of marriage in Queensland to help establish identity
- assistance with information on the legal requirements for getting married and on a celebrant’s responsibilities in registering a marriage.
