Fraud prevention
Our registry has a certificate access policy which restricts access to the birth, death, marriage and change of name official certificates.We also have a certificate validation service to help:
- identify forged documents
- minimise the likelihood of identity fraud.
Our service allows approved agencies such as banks, Passports Australia and Queensland Transport to check the validity of birth, death, marriage and change of name certificates through an electronic link.
We are part of the national proof of identity framework with other Australian states and territories.
