Mediation skills
This course in mediation skills and conflict management is based on our Dispute Resolution Branch’s mediator training program and teaches participants how to:
- plan and set up a simple mediation session
- manage the various stages of the process competently.
The course provides an excellent conceptual framework and general skills for people engaged in simple disputes. You will be able to integrate skills gained in the course into current or proposed areas of work or interest. More about mediation skills.

Facilitating effective groups
This three-day course focuses on:
- facilitating group decision-making processes
- assisting groups to achieve productive outcomes
- managing conflict in groups.

Restorative justice
This three-day course addresses the principles of restorative justice as a dispute resolution process within the criminal justice system. The course explores:
- the historical context of this type of mediation process
- issues that need to be considered for effective practice.

Workplace conflict resolution
This three-day course focuses on:
- managing difficult behaviours
- negotiation skills
- prevention of workplace bullying.
