Mediation for separating couples

When a relationship breaks down and separation results, a lot of decisions have to be made about the future.

Partners who are separating may find themselves in dispute over such issues as property settlement, care of the children, child support and other financial matters. These disputes have traditionally been handled by the legal system, but the costs, both emotionally and financially, can be high.

Our dispute resolution centres offer mediation as an alternative.

Mediation is a free, confidential and voluntary dispute resolution service. It is a way of settling disputes by helping the people involved to discuss their differences in the presence of trained mediators and to work out their own solution.

The mediators act as an impartial third party, keeping the discussion focused and helping to clarify the issues.
