Births, deaths and marriages

Our Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages is responsible for the registration in Queensland of:

• births
• deaths
• marriages
• changes of name
• ministers of religion
• adoptions.

We can also supply birth, death, marriage and change of name certificates to eligible applicants.

Brisbane marriage room

The Brisbane registry provides a stylish venue and marriage celebrant for couples wishing to have a civil marriage ceremony.

Passport and divorce applications

We do not deal with passport applications or issues related to separation and divorce. Visit the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website or contact the Australian Passport Information Services for information about passports. For information about separation or divorce, visit the Family Law Courts website.
