This course in mediation skills is based on the Dispute Resolutions Branch’s Mediator training program. This course provides participants with:

Codes of practice

An electrical safety code of practice does not specify everything that should or should not be done to meet an electrical safety obligation. However, electrical contractors and workers would fail to meet their obligations if they:

  • went against or acted inconsistently with a code of practice
  • did not adopt a method as safe as, or safer than, the code.

Victim Assist Queensland Form 5 - Criminal history consent (PDF, 38.3 KB)

Your consent is needed for a criminal history report to be obtained. The Government Assessor has to decide whether the primary victim was involved in the criminal activity when the act of violence occurred. Under Section 69 of the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009, the Government Assessor can obtain the victim’s criminal history and/or a description of the circumstance of a conviction for an offence mentioned in the criminal history. This information will be obtained from the Queensland Police Service.

Victim Assist Queensland Form 4 - Health Practitioner Examination Report (PDF, 62.5 KB)

The purpose of the report is to provide the Government Assessor with information necessary to decide a grant for financial assistance to pay for, or reimburse, the costs of goods and services that the victim requires to recover from the physical and psychological effects of an act of violence.

An application form for victims of crime who want to seek financial assistance for a funeral. A person who has paid or is reasonably likely to incur the funeral expenses of a primary victim who has died as a direct result of an act of violence may be granted financial assistance of up to $6000.

This form deals with your future health care. The time may come when you cannot speak for yourself. By completing this form, you can give directions about your medical treatment at such a time. In Queensland, the Guardianship and Administration Act 2000 provides for the appointment of guardians and administrators to manage personal and financial affairs of adults with impaired capacity. It also sets out the powers and responsibilities of the Tribunal, Public Advocate, Community Visitor Program and the Office of Adult Guardian. The Guardianship and Administration Act 2000 operates in partnership with the Powers of Attorney Act 1998 which governs powers of attorney, enduring powers of attorney and statutory health attorneys in Queensland.
