Types of personal information the department holds

The Information Privacy Act 2009 regulates how Queensland Government agencies manage personal information. Under the IP Act, Government agencies are required to manage personal information in accordance with the 11 Information Privacy Principles.

The Office of the Information Commissioner is Queensland’s independent body established under the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) to promote access to government-held information and protect people’s personal information held by government under the IP Act.
