Views on the referral of Queensland’s IR jurisdiction

Activity occured prior to the current government

The Queensland Government is seeking the views of industrial relations stakeholders and the business community on whether it should maintain or terminate the referral of its industrial relations jurisdiction for the unincorporated private sector to the Commonwealth.

An Issues Paper has been developed to provide the broad context against which to assess the current industrial relations arrangements and the desirability of maintaining or terminating the current referral. The Issues Paper poses one broad question to be considered by those who wish to make a submission in response to the paper. The Issues Paper, including its question, provides a guide only and should not limit the responses from interested parties.

Submissions will be made available on the community consultation activities website of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General, unless individuals or organisations making a submission seek confidentiality. Submissions that are considered to be vexatious, inappropriate or not relevant will not be considere.
