Regulatory Impact Statements

Regulatory Impact Statements are produced when significant subordinate legislation is developed.

Regulatory impact statements:

  • explain why subordinate legislation is needed
  • outline the costs and benefits associated with the subordinate legislation

All Regulatory Impact Statements must be open to public comment for at least 28 days. By commenting on a Regulatory Impact Statement, you are participating in the legislative development process and providing valuable feedback to the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.

There are currently no regulatory impact statements open for public comment.
