Crown Law

Crown Law is the main provider of legal services to the Queensland Government. It is a self-funded business unit within the department, and can only offer its services to government.

Statutory authorities

A number of independent statutory authorities also work as part of the justice system. Some report to Parliament through our Minister and others report directly to Parliament.

Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions

Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions acts on the community’s behalf to prosecute people charged with serious criminal offences in Queensland.
