Role of the Youth Justice First Nations Action Board

The Youth Justice First Nations Action Board is made up of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Youth Justice staff members from across Queensland. They work in a range of positions from front line staff to managers. Each one is a strong advocate within Youth Justice and in their local community.

The Youth Justice First Nations Action Board will play a key role in the implementation of recommendations from the Youth Detention Review. They will ensure the changes have the desired impact and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

Some board members are part of the Youth Detention Recommendations Implementation Steering Committee. Others will be part of working groups that will work on how to best implement individual and grouped recommendations.
