The recall covers the Brivis AD Series Evaporative Cooler and Carrier 29CB series Evaporative Cooler models with serial numbers 403265 to 563076. These units were sold in Australia from 28 August 2000 to 21 November 2003.

Brivis has identified a potential defect in the water circulating pump of some of its evaporative cooler units. The starting capacitors in these units may fail and result in fire damage of property and/or personal injury.

Action required

Householders with a Brivis evaporative cooler installed in their premises between 28 August 2000 and 21 November 2003 should stop operating the unit and contact Brivis at 1800 043 214 or visit the dedicated recall website so that Brivis can make arrangements to carry out the required work free of charge.
