Testing is live work
Always consider parts live until you can prove otherwise.
You can use a range of devices to prove isolation of power. You need to know:
- which is the right device for the particular job
- how to use it properly
- its technical limitations
- what makes for a conclusive test.
Testing is live work so all of the requirements to perform live work must be met.
To make sure the work is electrically safe:
- ensure the electrical work or affected part of the electrical work is isolated, disconnected and made safe
- make sure the electrical work is safely isolated until the matter is resolved, assistance sought or further advice provided and used
