Electrical safety forums - working on or near exposed live parts
More than 1400 electrical workers attended electrical safety forums run by the Electrical Safety Office (ESO) around Queensland throughout February and March.
The forums reminded those who undertake, supervise or manage electrical work, or who supervise people in control of places where electrical work is performed, of the dangers of working on or near exposed live parts.
The forums covered the legal requirements of working with electricity, and discussed practical ways for safe electrical work, including:
- using a risk management approach to electrical work
- supervising apprentices and trainees
- safe systems of work.
