Licence suspended

During a recent hearing of the Electrical Licensing Committee, electrical contractor licencee Vladimir Knezevic was fined and his licence suspended.

The contractor left a number of serious defects at a location at Macleay Island which included:

  • exposed live parts at the terminations of downlight transformers
  • exposed single insulated conductors
  • downlights installed under a timber batten
  • failing to adequately secure a socket outlet, and
  • exposed live terminals on a sub-board due to a cover not being fitted.

The Licensing Committee fined Mr Knezevic $600 and suspended his contractor licence until he provides evidence of satisfactorily completing training in verifying compliance and functionality of general electrical installations.

An audit will be conducted on samples of his past work.
