Get involved in Safe Work Australia Week
Staying safe at work and coming home to family, friends and loved ones is the key message for Queensland’s Safe Work Australia Week 2009, running from 25 to 31 October.
The week highlights the impact and cost of workplace injuries and illness of Queenslanders. That cost is high - each year in Queensland around 100 people are killed in work-related accidents and disease, and by disease and almost 30,000 families are directly affected by serious workplace incidents. The total cost to the community is greater than $4.7 billion every year.
During the week, a range of activities throughout Queensland will be held by government, companies and organisations to promote workplace health and safety.
