Get involved in Safe Work Week

Staying safe at work and coming home to family, friends and loved ones is the key message for Queensland’s Safe Work Week 2011.

The week, held annually from 23 to 29 October 2011, highlights the impact and cost of workplace injuries and illness of Queenslanders in human suffering and economic terms.

Each year in Queensland, around 100 people are killed in work-related accidents and disease, and almost 30,000 families are directly affected by serious workplace incidents. The total cost to the community is greater than $5.2 billion every year.

Sadly, some of those affected are from the electrical industry, but you can make a difference.

Get involved in one of the many statewide activities being held for Safe Work Week. Find out more about events and resources you can use in your workplace.
