As an importer of electrical equipment
Section 33 of the Electrical Safety Act 2002 states that importers of electrical equipment must ensure:
- your imported goods are electrically safe.
This means:
- the design is electrically safe
- equipment has been tested and examined to ensure electrical safety.
You must also comply with any electrical safety notifications issued by the chief executive, Department of Justice and Attorney-General that apply to you.
