State Government Departments Certified Agreement 2006

The State Government Departments Certified Agreement 2006 (PDF File, 344.4 KB) was certified by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission on December 22, 2006 and covers approximately 56,000 public sector workers in 'core' government departments and agencies.

Key features of the agreement which will operate until 31 July 2009 include:

Wage increases of 4% or $30 per week (whichever is the greater) will apply on 1 August 2006; 1 July 2007; and 1 July 2008 with salary adjustments expected to be completed by the first week of February 2007.
Changes to on call arrangements and allowances.
The continuation of training allowance arrangements and the capacity to review the eligibility of non-AQF accredited courses.
Job security and permanency.

In addition to the core agreement a number of commitments are made through an exchange of letters. These include:

The implementation of sector-wide standards, policies and quality control and to review the application of the job evaluation management system to certain occupational groups.
Changes to the appointment and dispute resolution processes for longer term temporary employees.
The development of guidelines for agencies to facilitate the application of the award progression criteria for PO and TO roles to agency specific positions.

Lastly, a number of agency specific matters were negotiated and will be implemented in line with the agreed terms between the Government and unions.
