Fair Trading, Liquor Licensing and Gaming join Department

Recent changes to Cabinet and Ministerial portfolios have resulted in a reallocation of responsibilities under the Department of Justice and Attorney-General portfolio.

The Department of Justice and Attorney-General will now report to the Deputy Premier, Attorney-General, Minister for Local Government and Special Minister of State, Mr Paul Lucas, in relation to justice issues, and the Minister for Education and Industrial Relations, Mr Cameron Dick, in relation to safe and fair workplaces.

The Office of Fair Trading (including Gaming and Liquor Licensing) will transfer from the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation to the Department of Justice and Attorney-General. Mr Lucas, as Attorney-General, will also have responsibility for these areas.
