If you are calling us, please make sure you have:

• copies of any previous correspondence
• any file or reference numbers you have been given
• the date you forwarded your application to us
• how you made payment (cheque, money order, credit card or cash).

If you are emailing us, please make sure you include:

• your full name
• your postal address
• your phone number
• reference number (if applicable)
• date of birth, death or marriage
• location of birth, death or marriage
• any other supporting documentation regarding your application.

You will receive an automatic notification that we have received your email. We will respond to you within 10 business days.

Street location

Our registry is located at 110 George Street, Brisbane, in the old Government Printery building, between the Treasury Casino and Hotel and the Executive Building.

The entrance can be accessed from George Street, William Street or Stephens Lane. There is footpath-level wheelchair access from George Street and William Street, but not from Stephens Lane.

There is limited on street parking in the city, however there are several parking stations nearby.

Interstate and overseas births, deaths and marriages

If the birth, death or marriage occurred outside Queensland, contact the registering authority where the event took place.
