Becoming a celebrant

To conduct marriages in Australia, Marriage Celebrants or Ministers of Religion must be registered in the state where they live.

To become a registered Marriage Celebrant, you need to apply to the Australian Government - Attorney-General's Department .

We keep a register of all Ministers of Religion who live in Queensland that are authorised to perform marriages. We only accept registrations from the nominating authorities of recognised religious denominations.
