Courts and tribunals

Queensland's courts and tribunals are responsible for the delivery of justice according to the law and form the judical arm of the criminal justice system.

Queensland courts

Including the Magistrates Courts, District Court and Supreme Court. These courts hear both civil and criminal cases throughout the state.

Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal

QCAT is a single gateway through which the community can access justice. It makes decisions about guardianship, residential and retail tenancy disputes, debt, consumer, trader, building and minor civil disputes, matters affecting children and young people, antidiscrimination matters, and occupational and business regulation matters.

The new Brisbane Supreme and District Court, our historic courthouses and new courthouses in Queensland.

Going to court

Information for witnesses (victims of crime or people called to give evidence) and defendants (anyone who is charged with an offence).

Domestic violence

Assistance for victims of domestic violence.
