Our historic courthouses

In contrast to many contemporary courthouses being built in Queensland, our historic courthouses tell of a time long passed. These historic courthouses highlight our ongoing commitment to preserve local history and Queensland’s architectural heritage.

Some of these stately buildings are heritage-listed, dating back to the late 1800s, and remind us of the long presence of the law in Queensland towns, big and small.

These courthouses are historically important not only for their architecture but as a reminder to our state's early growth and prosperity. Next time you're in regional Queensland, we invite you to stop in at the local courthouse.
