We have a number of high profile guest speakers along with first class entertainment to one of our most important calendar events of the year. We will have our large range of raffle and auction prizes to help fundraise in support of those who are affected by domestic and family violence. Guest Speaker: Sue Clarke Sue Clarke, Founder of Small Steps 4 Hannah, Mother to Hannah, Grandmother to Aaliyah, Laianah and Trey accompanied by her loving Husband Lloyd Clarke. The parents of Hannah Clarke, who was murdered along with her three children in 2020, have welcomed the announcement of Queensland's new coercive control laws. The state's premier said legislation criminalising it will be implemented by the end of 2023 as part of a $363 million domestic violence funding package. Sue Clarke said they hope the criminalisation of coercive control can be implemented nationally, and said the recent announcement will also fund education for police in this space. Guest Speaker: Katrina Fanning is a Rugby League Pioneeer and also Director of Coolamon Advisors Coolamon Advisors have the experience and capability to assist Government and commercial organisations to deliver greater value to Indigenous Australians.We understand the diversity that exists across Indigenous Australia, the complexity this creates Government's and others to develop policy and to meet their delivery responsibilities and we have a proven ability to deliver innovative solutions and provide valuable expertise to meet these challenges. Hetty Johnston AM Child Protection Advocate. Hetty established Bravehearts in 1997 after learning her daughter had been sexually assaulted. Since then, Hetty has dedicated her life to creating awareness of the fact that child sexual assault is largely preventable and encouraging the nation to prioritise the safety of children. Hetty’s work has been widely acknowledged, and she has been recognised both nationally and internationally in her efforts to end child abuse. She was awarded the title of the 2015 Queensland Australian of the Year, inducted into 2015 Logan’s Wall of Acclaim, and recognised as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2014. She is a member of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the Queensland Family and Child Commission Advisory Council. Guest Speaker: Gary Jubelin Gary Jubelin has dedicated his life to catching killers. The former homicide detective has worked on some of the biggest criminal cases in Australia and put countless criminals behind bars. After 34 years in the police and 25 years in homicide, Detective Inspector (retd) Gary Jubelin is tracking down the detectives who inspire him, criminologists, lawyers, forensic experts and the odd hardcore criminal - to extract their tricks of the trade. Gary's guests reveal the untold true stories of Australia’s most terrifying crimes and insights into the criminal underworld that will leave you fascinated, on the edge of your seat and horrified in equal measure. Guest Speaker: Shaun O'Gorman Shaun O’Gorman is a Human Behaviour, High Performance and Resilience consultant, keynote speaker, and author. After joining the Queensland Police Service in 1989, Shaun worked in the Police Dog Squad for many years as well as the Covert and Surveillance unit working on Major and Organised Crime. While in the K9 unit Shaun was involved in daily high-risk critical incidents ranging from violent street brawls, high-speed pursuits, barricaded suspects, domestic violence, and shooting incidents. Shaun left the QPS and was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He now devotes his life to helping others using the knowledge and education that helped him help himself. Special Guest: LuLu LeMans (Drag Performer of the Year) and Ambassador SS4H I’m so proud to be an official ambassador for Small Steps 4 Hannah and I can’t wait to use this platform to share stories from our community and to engage with influential members of the broader QLD community to increase protections for queer people all over the state. Queer people come from all walks of life. They are a diverse community, representing all racial and ethnic backgrounds.
