A community approach to tackling domestic and family violence in the workplace

Tuesday 03 May 2022 7.30 am

DV Safe Phone and Kawana Chamber of Commerce

Join us on Tuesday 3 May at The Lakehouse, Sunshine Coast for a DV Safe Phone and Kawana Chamber of Commerce small business event. This event is part of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month. Focusing on 'A community approach to tackling domestic and family violence in the workplace' this breakfast is sure to be an insightful and educational morning. What's on? Let's be honest, domestic and family violence (DFV) is an uncomfortable topic to talk about yet it's a topic all small business owners need to know about. Be inspired by our courageous guest speakers Sue and Lloyd Clarke from Small Steps 4 Hannah Foundation, Jonathon McBride, DFV and VPU Sunshine Coast District, Queensland Police and Janine Fulton, Director of Harm Prevention Solutions, as they share their diverse experiences of DFV in our community. The panel discussion and audience participation will be facilitated by Hot 91.1's very own Nathan 'Nugget' Dell. You really are guaranteed to walk away with new insights, resources and connections to help you navigate this challenging space. This event is proudly brought to you as part of DV Safe Phone's 'One Phone, One Life' campaign, in partnership with Kawana Chamber of Commerce, Hot 91.1 and the Queensland Government's Investing in Queensland Women initiative. Why attend? Get informed about the diversity of DFV issues you and your staff may encounter and the long term impacts on your business. Know where to access DFV resources available to you and your workforce and connect with local support services near you. Understand how you as a small business owner or change maker can play an active part in the prevention and control of DFV in our community. This event is free for all small business owners and their representatives, however tickets are limited to 2 per business so get in quick to reserve your place!
