The events promoted in the Women's Safety and Violence Prevention community events calendar send a clear message that gendered violence will not be tolerated, and that our community will strive for promotion and protection of women’s rights, interests and wellbeing all year round.
Community groups are encouraged to register an event to be considered for inclusion in the calendar.
16 Days of Activism community display

This event will #TurnTownsvilleOrange during #16DaysofActivism to #StopViolenceAgainstWomen in our community. The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. It calls for our community to stop violence against women. Come on down to the CIC to check out the engaging and thought-provoking orange display, which will be lovingly created by a range of local community groups.
