End domestic and family violence
Following the handing down of the landmark Not Now, Not Ever report, the Queensland Government developed the Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Strategy 2016–2026 to implement the report’s recommendations.
The strategy outlines how the Queensland Government, in partnership with the Queensland community, will work together to:
- shift community attitudes and behaviours
- enhance service responses
- strengthen justice system responses.
The Third Action Plan 2019-20 to 2021-22 (PDF) builds on the significant work of Queensland's domestic and family violence reform program delivered under the First Action Plan 2015-16 (PDF)and Second Action Plan 2016-19 (PDF).
It provides a blueprint for government and the community to work together to continue to deliver positive change over the next 3 years, from July 2019 to June 2022.
In 2019, Deloitte Access Economics, in partnership with Ipsos, completed a Structured review of the Second Action Plan 2016-17 to 2018-19 exploring the extent to which Queensland is on track towards achieving the Strategy's long-term vision.
