Marsden State School
Community Hub leader, Penny Dearlove was successful in receiving the Domestic and family Violence prevention Month Grant to hold domestic violence awareness events during the month of May.
Over four Tuesday's, workshops and information sessions were held in the school, with members of the wider community in attendance. Local organisations were approached to participate on a weekly basis, alongside members within the school community.
Each week consisted of a catered morning tea, an information session and themed resources. A designated private area was created for participants - enabling a safe space for disclosures of domestic violence to take place. Skilled domestic violence practitioners were present at every event to assist those making a disclosure.
