Delivery of Recommendations: Not Now, Not Ever: Putting an end to domestic and family violence in Queensland

Queensland continues to lead the nation in our efforts to prevent and respond to domestic and family violence. The Special Taskforce on Domestic and Family Violence made 121 recommendations to the Queensland Government along with 19 non-government led recommendations as part of its Not Now, Not Ever: Putting an end to domestic and family violence in Queensland Report. All 140 recommendations have now been delivered. The Delivery of Recommendations report is now available.

The Queensland Government committed a record $328.9 million over six years to implement these recommendations and support the Queensland Government’s 10-year Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Strategy 2016–2026.

Through implementing the recommendations, we have delivered significant reform aiming to change community attitudes, integrate service responses and strengthen justice responses across Queensland.

However much remains to be done. The Third Action Plan 2019–20 to 2021–22aims to embed and strengthen reform efforts, mobilise more business and community partnerships to eliminate domestic and family violence, and improve equity of access to services for Queenslanders most vulnerable to and impacted by domestic and family violence, and enhance service sector capacity to respond effectively to those who experience domestic and family violence.

Thank you to those who worked tirelessly to help bring Queensland closer to achieving a future free of domestic and family violence.
