Consultation on the human rights and anti-discrimination framework
The Review is inviting submissions as part of a review of Queensland’s human rights and anti-discrimination framework.
The Review is considering the legal framework that supports Queensland’s human rights and anti-discrimination protections, including how complaints are managed, to ensure that it delivers timely, practical and effective outcomes for Queenslanders.
These laws impact how Queenslanders experience human rights and anti-discrimination protections in practice, including when:
- accessing services
- interacting with government agencies
- resolving complaints.
Your feedback will help inform the Review.

Submission options
You can tell us your views by making a submission. The Review would appreciate submissions to be made in writing. If you require assistance in making a submission other than in writing, please contact us.
Answering some or all of these questions will mean that we can use your views to directly inform the issues and options under consideration by the Review.
If you are a service provider or professional or industry body, the Review encourages you to consider including case studies in your submission.

The Review will treat your submission as a public submission unless you tell us you would like us to treat it as confidential.
Public submissions may be published on the Department of Justice’s website and we may refer to them in the Final Report. If you are comfortable with us publishing and referring to your submission, but want us to remove your name and other identifying information first, please let us know. This is called an anonymised public submission.
Confidential submissions will not be published on the Department of Justice’s website and any references to the submission in the list of submissions made will not identify the author.

The Department of Justice will collect your personal information, including your name, email address and phone number – to administer and evaluate consultation on the Review of Queensland’s human rights and anti-discrimination framework. Collection is authorised under the Information Privacy Act 2009.
Authorised officers will use your personal information to review, analyse and respond to feedback received through the consultation process. We will not use or disclose your personal information for another purpose unless we are authorised or required by law.
We will not give your personal information to anyone else unless we are authorised or required under an Australian law or Court or Tribunal order to do so.
Please note that submissions are subject to the requirements prescribed in the Information Privacy Act 2009 and the Right to Information Act 2009. If you do not want your name or other personal information published, please indicate this in your submission.
Your personal information may be transferred overseas if technology service providers store or process information outside Australia.
