Deputy Director-General for Liquor, Gaming and Fair Trading
Victoria Thomson has been Deputy Director-General, Commissioner for Fair Trading, and Commissioner for Liquor and Gaming since October 2019.
From educating older males on ladder safety to licensing craft brewers to ensuring probity and integrity of casinos, Victoria’s portfolio is diverse and complex. She is responsible for her agency’s strategic direction and service delivery, ranging from simple communication campaigns to multi-agency cooperation across national and international jurisdictions.
Joining the Queensland Government in 1998 as part of a graduate program, Victoria started out in the field as a workplace health and safety inspector. Over the next 15 years, she moved across a range of management positions responsible for frontline services, policy, partnerships and programs for high-risk industries such as construction, electrical, transport and agriculture.
Victoria holds a Bachelor in Behavioural Science and Executive Masters in Public Administration.
Executive Director for Liquor and Gaming
Anthony Crack is the Executive Director of the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR). He is responsible for managing the licensing and compliance arrangements for liquor and gaming across Queensland and ensuring this work is undertaken in a way which minimises harm to individuals and communities.
Anthony began his public service career in the early 1990s. Since that time, he has gained considerable experience in senior strategic leadership and policy roles across the Queensland Government. This has included leading budget processes and analysis of market-led proposals to government, providing expert input into major projects, working as Cabinet Secretary for several years, and driving major legislative and licensing reforms in a number of complex regulatory agencies.
With a passion for modern regulatory practice and harm minimisation, Anthony is an active participant in a range of state and national forums, and is keen to see continuous improvement in licensing and compliance frameworks for Queensland’s liquor and gaming industry.
Anthony holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Communication.
