Legal Assistance Strategy and Funding Unit
The Legal Assistance Strategy and Funding Unit helps vulnerable and disadvantaged Queenslanders to access legal services, and administers the government investment in vital justice services.
Under the National Legal Assistance Partnership 2020–25 agreement, states and territories are required to develop a legal assistance strategy and action plan.
Under the National Legal Assistance Partnership agreement, states and territories are required to engage in collaborative service planning initiatives to support information sharing and to improve service delivery to vulnerable community members seeking legal advice. Queensland’s response to this was to establish legal assistance forums across Queensland where the legal services can come together to share information and work together.
