Good practice resource for domestic and family violence court support workers

We have developed a Good practice resource for domestic and family violence court support workers. The resource provides a position description and guidelines for court support workers who provide support to aggrieved and/or respondent persons in civil domestic and family violence (DFV) court proceedings.

The resource was created in response to recommendation 125 of the Not now, not ever report that recognised assisting people with understanding the court process is a critical component to help ensure the best possible outcome for all parties.

The content of this resource has been informed by consultation with service providers funded to provide DFV court support, DFV peak bodies and networks, legal stakeholders and other Queensland Government departments. The resource is available to DFV support service providers with the intent to achieve greater consistency of court support across the state.
