Embrace the challenge

The Department of Innovation, Tourism Industry Development and the Commonwealth Games (DITID) has found a way to connect their support for White Ribbon Australia and their work with the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games through their MyGames 2018 team challenge.

To do the challenge, staff are tapping into a GC2018 initiatives, MyGames 2018, a partnership between the Embracing 2018 Legacy Program and the global fundraising platform, everydayhero.

Their aim is to raise funds for White Ribbon, to spread the word about the legacy of the Games and to get fit — it’s a triple win!

The MyGames site has some great ideas for challenges including doing a park run in your local area for the next 12 weeks; do a weekly bush walk; create your own Commonwealth Games tournament; or get together with 10 friends and do a virtual walking tournament; or do the Darkness to Daylight Challenge as part of the challenge. There are more ideas here.

The challenge is open on MyGames 2018 until the end of May 2018, so while our athletes are doing their best for Australia during the Games, we can be pounding the pavement to raise funds for White Ribbon Australia to help them in their work to prevent domestic and family violence.

It is easy to get started. Simply go to MyGames 2018 to create a team challenge.
