Women's Safety and Violence Prevention community events calendar
The events promoted in the Women's Safety and Violence Prevention community events calendar send a clear message that gendered violence will not be tolerated, and that our community will strive for promotion and protection of women’s rights, interests and wellbeing all year round.
Community groups are encouraged to register an event to be considered for inclusion in the calendar.
Townsville Walk Against Violence
Friday 25 Nov 2022 8.15 am
Townsville City Council
We are encouraging everyone to wear orange #TurnTownsvilleOrange for #16DaysofActivism. Join us for the Walk Against Violence as we walk through the city and talk about domestic and family violence and the challenge of calling out disrespectful behaviour as we walk from the Red Bench at the Townsville City Council Forecourt at 103 Walker Street to the Red Bench at Central Park. Participants will have the opportunity to tie a ribbon to the Red Bench as we stand together to say NO to domestic and family violence. Cold drinks and fruit will be available at the end of the walk.
