Interagency guidelines for responding to sexual assault or child sexual abuse

The Queensland Government has released the updated Interagency guidelines for responding to children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual assault or child sexual abuse (PDF) (or DOCX) (the guidelines).

The guidelines outline the key principles and a best practice framework for government agencies working with children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual assault and/or child sexual abuse.

They aim to help ensure that individuals who have experienced sexual assault are provided with timely, high quality and coordinated service delivery responses appropriate to their needs.

All relevant Queensland Government agencies and key service providers are encouraged to use the guidelines to support coordination and cooperation with the aim of improving responses to victim-survivors.

The guidelines will be regularly reviewed in consultation with the specialist sexual assault sector to ensure they align with policy approaches and legislation changes driven by significant reviews, such as those implemented in the Queensland Government response to the Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce recommendations.
