The events promoted in the Women's Safety and Violence Prevention community events calendar send a clear message that gendered violence will not be tolerated, and that our community will strive for promotion and protection of women’s rights, interests and wellbeing all year round.
Community groups are encouraged to register an event to be considered for inclusion in the calendar.
Walk Against Domestic Violence and Remembrance Event

Domestic Violence Action Centre
Join DVAC as we host a Toowoomba community event to raise awareness and to bring an end to domestic and family violence. This is a local, inclusive, family-friendly community event to raise awareness to remember those who have been affected by domestic and family violence. The event will include police escorted walk down Ruthven Street, community stalls/poster painting, guest speakers, sausage sizzle and coffee van, and candle lighting vigil. Paint posters from 4.30pm, or bring along your own posters and banners for our Walk Against Violence. Walk Against Domestic Violence starting at 5.30pm. Candle lighting vigil and speeches from 6pm.
